A delegation of the State Committee on Work with Refugees and IDPs of Azerbaijan arrived in Tbilisi within the Improving security resources in the South Caucasus project. The Georgian Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation told Trend that the Azerbaijani delegation is headed by head of administration of the State Committee Telman Mammadov.
"A number of programs for refugees have been successfully implemented in Georgia, and we intend to know how to resolve the issue of refugee accommodation with the help of international organizations," Mammadov said, stressing that exactly this problem is very acute in Georgia and Azerbaijan.
According to the delegation, Azerbaijan belongs to the category of those countries where the problem of refugees is urgent. They are going to discuss this question in Tbilisi.
The Georgian side will present a report on the work done in 2009 and the government's strategy to address the problems of refugees.
The meeting was organized with the help of the UN and the financial support of the European Commission.
