The Youth and Sports Ministry and the UNDP have signed a joint document to implement a youth participation project in Azerbaijan. From the Azerbaijani side the document was signed by Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov and from the UNDP, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura.

Rahimov noted that the primary objective is to ensure greater participation among youth in decision-making processes, and improving the skills of future leaders and government officials.
The project will be implemented over two years, and foreign experts will be invited to educate young leaders in various fields, Rahimov added.

The project supports the priorities set forth by the government program titled, "Youth of Azerbaijan in 2011-2015," and aims to enhance youth participation in civil society development.
