BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. The election campaign has not yet started; the media should take this into account, chairperson of the CEC Mazahir Panahov said at a meeting of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The CEC chairman noted that registered candidates should also take this into account.
“In case of violation in this sphere, the CEC may conduct proceedings and even cancel the candidacy of a registered nominee,” he added.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the dissolution of the Azerbaijani Parliament of the sixth convocation and the appointment of an extraordinary election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The snap election is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
