VEDJDI РљР•NUL: NO CONNECTIONS BETWEEN TURKEY AND ARMENIA BEFORE SETTLEMENT OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT

Any connections between Turkey and Armenia before the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are out of the question, such a statement has been made by the Defense Minister of Turkey Vedjdi Kenul at the meeting with the head of the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on 21 July, Trend reports.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh problem settlement the sides noted, the conflict must be solved by means of peaceful talks, having underlined the importance of the top level dialogue. Kenul noted, that Turkey backs the just position of Azerbaijan in this issue.

Meanwhile, the Turkish guest noted, that the volume of the Turkey’s financial aid to Azerbaijan made up 170 million USD, emphasizing that bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere would go on.

The Foreign Ministry (FM) head Elmar Mammadyarov, in his turn, noted, that the leadership of Azerbaijan attaches a special significance to the cooperation with Turkey and Georgia in the security field.

Mammadyarov noted that Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation in the defense sphere develops successfully both on the bilateral basis and at the international level.

Head of the Azerbaijan’s FM appreciated highly the support from Turkey in the framework of various NATO programs, and touched upon the issues related to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) energy project.
