Violation of rules while fuelling at airport in Armenia made foreign aircraft forced landing in Baku

Today at 11.21 a.m. the US made Sesna -525 aircraft, owned by the private German Silver Birde company, made a forced landing at the Baku Heydar Aliyev airport. The aircraft was bound by the route Frankfurt-Istanbul-Erevan-Ashgabat-Kabul, deputy head of the AZAL State Concern (SC) Arif Mammadov told Trend.

According to him, the aircraft has been filled up, however, relevant norms have not been kept by this, in particular, the airliner’s tanks had not been filled up by the equal amount of fuel at the Erevan airport “Zvartnotz.

В"It caused the forced landing at the Baku airport. The airliner’s pilots tried to regulate the situation in the air, but it has deteriorated the matter, as the difference in the tanks’ fuel quantity grew and the threat of crash emerged”, he said.

Mammadov noted, the aircraft captain inquired the Baku airport being 200 km far from it and we permitted them to land. В"The problem has been eliminated and the airliner has been fuelled up for 500 litres, followed by the aircraft’s departure at 14.15 p.m.”, Mammadov summarized.
