Ingilab Ahmedov: Practice of Management with Azerbaijan's Oil Incomes Triggers Huge International Interest

On May 5-6 in the Kiel Institute for the World Economy the conference Political-Economic Challenges to Natural Resources Rich Countries on the example of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Ingilab Ahmadov, the Chief of the Public Finances Monitoring Centre (PFMC) took part at the conference.

According to Mr I.Ahmadov, during the meeting questions of distributing of the rent between oil companies and the state were discussed, macroeconomic management of oil incomes, the activity of oil funds of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

At the conference held with the participation of the experts of IMF, political scientists of research centres, Mr. I. Ahmadov delivered a presentation where he told questions of distributing the rent. At the presentation the issue of PSA type contracts on the example of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli was particularly considered.

During the meeting experts and political scientists of various organizations acknowledged the practice of management of oil incomes by Azerbaijan as interesting and realible marked Mr. I. Ahmadov.

The meeting became available within the two-year project devoted the issue of oil incomes, economic and political aspects of this sphere. As a result of this event the institute is to publish a collection of materials.
