Azeri President calls Lithuanian investors to invest in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, its strategic location and infrastructure might be exciting for the Lithuanian entrepreneurs, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated in his opening remarks to the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business-forum.

We have many projects which require international cooperation, he stressed. Azerbaijani president called on the investors in to raise funds in hic country. You will find yourselves self, he assured.

Azerbaijan is currently differentiating its economy. However, the energy sector will dominate over other sectors of economy for many years to come, Aliyev stressed. The country is concentrated on the oil sector and Lithuanian businessmen have large opportunities in this respect. WE have services to offer each other, the President underscored.

At present there is an investment company in Azerbaijan with the statutory capital of $100m. It will be increased in future. It was done in an effort to define spheres for further development. Its participation in the projects along with other companies will be a guarantee for future success of the project, the present announced.

Addressing the forum Adamkus noted that the business circles of the two countries have large opportunities. During the business-forum the sides will have opportunities for exchange of opinions. Both sides enjoy mutual interests, he underlined. Lithuania is a country which possesses too many capacities. However, it does not have natural resources like Azerbaijan. But we need them.
