Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko thinks that Ukraine and Azerbaijan have a big untapped potential for cooperation in the spheres of aviation, agriculture, transport, construction, as well as small-scale and medium business.
According to the Press Service of the Head of the Ukrainian State, on September 7-8, 2006, during the official visit to Azerbaijan Republic, President Viktor Yuschenko is to meet Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev, Trend Special Correspondent to Kiev reports. Also it is scheduled that the Ukrainian leader will visit the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan`s Parliament), and meet other Azerbaijani officials.
Issues on cooperation in trade and economic sphere, and projects in the sphere of energy security are expected to be discussed during the visit. The Ukrainian President is sure that the creation of the new route to export the Caspian oil in the direction Baku-Odessa-Brody-Plotsk will be one of the key issues in cooperation between the two countries.
Signing of intergovernmental agreements On Cooperation in the Sphere of Environment protection, On International Combined Cargo Transportation, and other documents are expected to be signed during the visit. The Heads of the States will also discuss the holding of the days of the Ukrainian culture in Azerbaijan, and the days of the Azerbaijani culture in Ukraine.
In addition, Mr. Yuschenko will deliver a speech on a report on the subject Ukraine`s Foreign Policy before students, professors and teachers of the Baku Slavic University.
