A meeting of the working commission of the chiefs of the frontier services of the International Conference for Frontier Issues is an indicator of the deep confidence to the Government of Azerbaijan and the State Frontier Service, Elchin Guliyev, Chief of the State Frontier Service told journalists as a result of the two-day meeting of the working group of the International Conference for Frontier Issues, Trend reports.
Mr. Guliyev praised the work of the meeting of the working groups of the Conference. All the moments scheduled have been fully fulfilled. The strong protection of the boundaries of Azerbaijan contributes to the security of Europe. This issue was discussed during the meeting as well, told Mr. Guliyev.
According to Mr. Guliyev, several working groups are functioning within the Shiofok Conference, and Azerbaijan is the chair of the Group on Preventing Illegal Arms, Ammunition, and Radionuclide Substances Traffic and Sale. During the meetings of the working gropus, the activity of the Azerbaijani party was highly appreciated.
Notably, the International Conference for Frontier Issues has commenced its activity since 1992. During the first meeting of the conference, 13 countries participated. About 50 countries and 20 international organizations took part at the conference that was held in the Hungarian Town of Shiofok in 2006.
