Mashadihasanli/ On 23 May, Kyrgyzstan will host the 2nd international fair 'Osh on the Great Silken Way - 2008', the chairman of the Tourism Committee attached to the Kyrgyz Government Turusbek Mamashov said to Trend . Mamashov said that development of tourism is acquiring strategic and social importance for Kyrgyzstan.
Tourism is the important source for extra funds flow to the public budget, which directly affects adjacent fields' market such as trade and transport.
Mamashov added that in 2007 over 5,000 enterprises were registered in the field of tourism and the revenues received from expats exceeded 347mln USD, 239mln som went to the budget as taxes.
" Kyrgyzstan's unique nature potential and rich cultural heritage must make tourism the country's leading economic sector. We have all prerequisites to make Kyrgyzstan the country of tourism," Mamashev said.
