248 HIV-Diseased People Regisered in South of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Lankaran, 31 October / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva / A total of 29 AIDS patients were revealed in Lankaran Region from January to October, which is located in the south of Azerbaijan, bordering with Iran (270km of Baku).

Some 162 AIDS patients, including 139 men and 23 women, were registered in the region, Ramiali Ibishov, the director of the HIV/AIDS Diagnostics Laboratory of the Lankaran Region Hygene and Epidemology Centre, told Trend on 31 October.

Twenty one AIDS patients have died in the region since 1999, three patients from January to October and one - in October.

A total of 248 HIV diseased people have been registered in the region.
