Passengers should be brought to administrative responsibility for an unfastened seatbelt, in accordance with the Azerbaijani legislation.
Drivers and passengers who ignore safety belts, have a responsibility under the article 37 of the "Low on Road Traffic". Under the article, a driver must wear a safety belt and should demand the same from the passengers, Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's Central State Traffic Police Department spokesman Kamran Aliyev told Trend.
Every motor vehicle shall be provided with safety belts. The driver must notify the passenger to fasten his seatbelt. The passenger is responsible for the unfastened seatbelt, he added.
In accordance with Article 153.2 of the Administrative Violations Code, a fine in the amount of 6-10 manat is provided for unfastened seatbelt, and the passenger pays this amount, Aliyev said.
