Azerbaijan's enemy - Armenians are also involved in a campaign of discrediting Azerbaijan, conducted on the eve of the first European Games, Azerbaijani MP Vahid Ahmadov told Trend March 30.

He said that double standards are used against Azerbaijan.

"There are certain forces, international organizations, which do not want Azerbaijan's development," he said. "Therefore, they conduct such campaigns."

He said that today Azerbaijan is implementing large international projects.

"Many world countries can not carry out such projects," he said. "Therefore, there are some organizations that are envious of Azerbaijan's success. From this point of view, the holding of such campaigns against the country was expected."

Ahmadov said that the campaign of discrediting will be futile and Azerbaijan will adequately hold this important event.

Ahmadov said that the first European Games are very important for Azerbaijan.

"Such a sporting event will be held in our country for the first time," he said. "The country will present it to the world. This is a very important event in terms of strengthening the independence and political importance of Azerbaijan."

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
