BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. Enhancing the well-being of the population remains a key priority in Azerbaijan's state budget for the coming year, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said at the discussion of the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025” at the Azerbaijani Parliament, Trend reports.

The Minister made it clear that socially-oriented expenditures are right at the top of the list in the 2025 budget.

"In accordance with the President's instructions, the state budget for 2025 includes funds for wages, pensions, and social benefits. The minimum living wage and the poverty line are set to increase from 270 to 285 manat [$158.8-$167.6]. Compared to 2024, the budget for social security and protection next year will see a 9.6 percent increase," Sharifov added.
