BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 25

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

Turkey will invest about $7-8 million in the construction of a laboratory for the production of veterinary vaccines in Azerbaijan, deputy general director of the Turkish Vetal Hayvan Sağlığı Ürünleri (VETAL Animal Health Products Inc.), Nurlan Guliyev told Trend on October 25.

According to Guliyev, the laboratory is planned to be built in Fuzuli or Aghdam districts on an area of three hectares.

"The opening of this laboratory will allow avoiding the annual purchase of appropriate vaccines from abroad, the cost of which exceeds $15-16 million. In addition, it is planned to attract professors from Turkey, Africa, as well as from Egypt and some other Arab countries to exchange experience in the field of vaccine development," Guliyev said.

He also noted that the commissioning of this laboratory will create about a hundred new jobs.

"After the creation of appropriate capacities for the production of veterinary vaccines, it is planned to export them to other countries in the future," Guliyev said.

In addition, Guliyev stressed that the construction of this laboratory will be provided entirely at the expense of private funds without attracting government support.
