BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. Azerbaijan is working with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the assessment of hydrogen production development in the country, Kamran Huseynov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under Azerbaijani Energy Ministry, said at the 3rd Caspian Europe Forum held in Germany, Trend reports.
“An inter-agency hydrogen working group was established to conduct research and prepare proposals on the production, usage and deployment of hydrogen in Azerbaijan. As a result, Azerbaijan together with the EBRD decided to cooperate on the development of “Assessment of potential for Low-Carbon Hydrogen Economy in Azerbaijan” study,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the beginning of this year, EBRD-selected Advision consulting company has already provided project plan, which includes the review and assessment of Azerbaijan’s potential for hydrogen production, technical and commercial feasibility, as well the evaluation of local demand and export opportunities, the deputy director noted.
“This project, consisting of a country report and thematic blocks, is going to be submitted by Advisian by the end of 2022,” Huseynov added.
