Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 May / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijani Investment Company (AIC) is expected to receive a business-plan from MKT Istehsal Commerce on the project of cotton, hosiery manufacturing, as well as to reconstruct 'Sumgayit hovlu iplik, Riad Gasimov, AIC Deputy Executive Director, stated.
"This project is very significant for us and we are planning to acquire 20% of participation in the capital of the head company -MKT on the ground of the business plan," Gasimov stated.
According to Gasimov, several directions are being considered in the project - on construction of the plant and commercial real estate, particularly, a textile plant is expected to be constructed.
"This will be one of the most perspective projects in the market and will attract additional investments," Gasimov said.
Presently, AIC holds negotiations with MKT and even could draw the Caspian International Investment Company (CIIC), formed by the investment company and Islamic Private Sector Development Corporation, in the case of need of additional financing.
Sumgayit hosiery plant was privatized by MKT in 2006.
On 8 May, the official currency rate is 0,8292 AZN/USD.
