"We do our best to overcome upcoming crisis and I can assure you that sale of mandarins has been completed yet, Mikhail Saakashvili said. Presently, we keep our promises made to mandarin growers before elections".

One ferry with 3,500t of mandarins is set to Ukraine but earlier 9,500t of citrus production has been already transported to this country, according to the President.

"We downloaded a new ferry to Kerch under my agreement with the Ukrainian President," Saakashvili said.

Great production sector on cultivation of mandarins built in Kobuleti will be put into operation one of these days, the President said.

"Unfortunately, the same sector built by businessman Gocha Dzasokhov didn't justify itself, as principles of its formation were wrong from very beginning," the President said. Juices will be produced at this enterprise and be exported to world markets as well".

Totally, crop of mandarins made up 45,000 - 50,000t in 2008, he said.

In total, 25,000t of mandarins will be exported abroad, including Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine, whereas up to 23,000t has been already sold in the domestic market. So, there isn't any problem with sale," Saakashvili said.

Georgian mandarin growers will get extra10 tetri for each kilo of their product from authorities, he said.
