Energy Ministry is in talks with Central Bank and Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs to establish an specialized energy bank, the managing director of Iran Power Generation, Transmission, and Management Company (Tavanir) announced here on Sunday.
The Mehr News Agency quoted Mohammad Behzad as saying that the bank would finance the country's energy projects, particularly those of the power sector.
"The ministries of Finance and Economic Affairs and Energy have filed their request to the Central Bank and the negotiations are underway," he explained.
Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi has said the bank would place the priority on offering facilities to the private sector.
