During four months of 2010 (the year in Iran ends March 21) the total amount of the shuttle business through Astara customs office has amounted to $13,8 million, İSNA news agency quoted Iranian Astara Customs Services head Said Haji Firuzabadi. Shuttles transported 13,053 tons of goods from Iran, which is 85 percent more than the same period of last year.
According to Firuzabadi, the exported goods mainly include food, detergents, clothes, canned products, plastic utensils, fruits, vegetables, different kinds of drinks and flowers.
These products, in particular, exported from Iran for the citizens of Lankaran and Astara regions of Azerbaijan.
During the first four months of 2010, 150,862 people visited Iran, 148,054 people left the country, Haji Firuzabadi said. According to him, this figure increased by 91 percent compared to the previous year.
