Growth has been observed on the Azerbaijani securities market in the first quarter, Azerbaijani State Securities Committee Chairman Rufat Aslanli said at a meeting yesterday.
"The corporate securities segment increased 2.3 times and state securities increased 4.8 times," he said.
Aslanli added that the committee continued its work to improve the operating and commercial infrastructure of the securities market, to expand market-based instruments, and to develop market regulation mechanisms and systems of protecting investor rights.
He also gave instructions to develop and strengthen the committee staff's internal potential.
Aslanli said the committee's priority activities are to complete the preparation and launching of a state program on securities market development in 2011-2020 and the implementation of a project to modernize and automate the securities market jointly with the World Bank .
Aslanli charged structural units with specific instructions for 2011.
