Azerbaijani companies take part in Western Europe-Western China main line

One Azerbaijani and two Azerbaijani-Turkish companies are taking part in building the Western Europe-Western China transnational project, the Kazakh Transport and Communications Ministry said.

According to the ministry, it is planned to build a 500-kilometer-sector of the corridor in the Qyzylorda region this year.

"The construction operations are carried out in 15 sections with total length of 812 km in the Qyzylorda region," the ministry said. "Accord / Okan JV (Azerbaijan / Turkey), Azerkorpu (Azerbaijan), as well as three Italian companies - Salina, Impreza and Todini are involved there."

The contractors have mobilized 1,188 units of equipment, prepared 216,700 square meters of road metal, 93,000 tons of sand and gravel mixture and 0,8 tons of concrete products.

"Azerkorpu / Tepe (Azerbaijan / Turkey), Dena Rahsaz (Iran), Copri / Seyser JV (Kuwait / Kazakhstan), POSCO Ltd (Korea), Sinohydro Corporation Limited (China), Kukdong (Korea) conducte construction operations in the sections with total length of 224 km in the South Kazakhstan region," the ministry said.
