A law on currency regulation and currency control in international economic relations took effect in Turkmenistan, the local media reported.
This document establishes the legal framework and principles of currency regulation and currency control in international economic relations, and is aimed at holding a single state monetary policy in Turkmenistan, ensuring sustainability of the national currency, stability of the currency market of Turkmenistan, and competence of currency regulation agencies, rights and responsibilities of residents and nonresidents, bodies and agents of foreign exchange controls.
The Cabinet of Ministers and the Central Bank are bodies authorized to control currency exchange in Turkmenistan.
