A mission of the French Development Agency held talks last week with representatives of the Ministries of Economy and External Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, as well as at the Tashkent City Administration to identify projects that can be implemented with the Agency's participation, the French Embassy reported.
"The positive outcome of the mission to renew contacts and identify future projects allow us to speak about the imminent move to concrete action," the report reads.
The mission's next visit is scheduled for Late 2011 with a view to complete the first project in Tashkent.
The French government decided to initiate the French Development Agency's activities in Uzbekistan in June 2011.
Today, some 17 joint ventures created with participation of the French capital and two companies with 100- percent French capital operate in Uzbekistan. Representations of 15 French firms and companies were accredited to the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade accredited.
Trade and economic relations between countries are governed, particularly, by intergovernmental agreements on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments and on avoidance of double taxation of income.
