The production price index in Turkey in January 2012 increased by 0.38 per cent compared to the previous month, the Turkish Statistics Institute said in its website report on Friday. Compared to January 2011, the production price index rose by 11.13 per cent.
The biggest increase in production prices in January 2012 was observed on the products of the agricultural sector - 0.97 per cent and industrial sector - 0.26 per cent.
A growth of the production price index in the agricultural sector in January 2012 hit 8.44 per cent compared to the same period in 2011, while in the industrial sector its was 11.71 per cent.
The biggest increase in the production price index at the level of the sub-sector in January 2012 was observed in the production of coal and lignite - 4.78 per cent.
A growth of production prices in three sectors of industry - electricity, gas and water - hit 1.07 per cent, manufacturing industry - 0.11 per cent and in the mining sector - 1.42 per cent.
