The Uzbek foreign trade turnover was o $25.537 billion in 2011 or 15 percent more than during the same period in 2010. The data on foreign trade turnover was made public by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan in local media outlets on Tuesday.
According to the bank, Uzbek exports in 2011 increased by 15.4 percent to $15.027 billion, and imports jumped by 14.5 percent to $10.51 billion.
The foreign trade surplus reached $4.517 billion compared to $4.247 million a year before (a six-percent growth).
According to the State Statistics Committee, the country's foreign trade turnover in 2010 increased by three percent compared to 2009 to $21.842 billion, including exports grew by 10.8 percent - to $13.045 billion, while imports dropped by 6.8 percent and amounted to $8.798 billion.
