Kazakhstan will allocate 3 trillion tenge ($19.910 billion) on agro-industrial complex development by 2020 within 'Agribusiness 2020' program, the Kazakh Agriculture reported on Monday.
Some 1.837 trillion tenge (150.88 tenge = $1) of these funds will be allocated from the state budget, 825 billion tenge - from local budgets, 300 billion tenge - through bond issues. National company KazAgro will allocate 96 billion tenge and National company Food Contract Corporation will allocate 2 billion tenge.
The program was developed within realization of Kazakhstan's development strategy up to 2050, announced by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The program will be submitted to the government in February, the ministry said.
"Agribusiness 2020 program implementation will allow to increase the volumes of agricultural production by 1.5 times, to triple productivity, ensure food independence in basic food products at the level of 80 percent of the domestic market and attract up to 10 trillion tenge of private investments in the agriculture," the ministry said.
