The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes has completed work on the preparation of the legal framework to introduce partnership agreements in the country, Director of the General Directorate for Tax Policy and Strategic Studies of the Ministry Akif Musayev said at the III Conference on Tax Partnership in Baku today.
The conference was organized by the Ministry and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Azerbaijan.
"The legal framework for partnership agreements was reflected in the recent changes in the Tax Code," he said. "Afterwards, we prepared the draft regulations. This package is being discussed by appropriate organizations. It will be adopted in the near future."
He added that the basic principle of this innovation is to work on a voluntary basis and mutual trust.
"Naturally, the matter does not rest on reducing the tax burden," he said. "This is done to improve the accuracy of tax calculations, better risk management and so on."
He added that while signing the partnership agreements, entrepreneurs will be divided into separate risk groups. This will eventually lead to the formation of the concept of a model taxpayer.
