Kazakhstan and Germany are focusing on further strengthening the strategic partnership in the political, trade and economic areas, with special emphasis on cooperation in high technology and education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said in a message.
A meeting between Kazakh FM Kairat Abdrakhmanov and Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office Niels Annen was held in Astana.
A potential for deepening investment cooperation was noted during the meeting. In 2017, the German direct investments into the Kazakh economy amounted to more than $345 million. In total, from January 2005 to January 2018, gross inflow of direct investments from Germany to Kazakhstan exceeded $4.2 billion.
The parties agreed to continue supporting the growing bilateral ties through existing and new institutions of cooperation.
