An official with Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex in the Iranian city of Mes-e Sarcheshmeh in Kerman Province said factories in the province produced over 10,000 tons of blister copper in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21).

Fifteen factories active across the province managed to produce 10,600 tons of blister copper over six months, Mohammad Reza Dehshiri told IRNA on October 23.

He added the factories are ahead of their schedule as they only produced 13,000 tons of blister copper last year.

Blister copper is an impure form of copper having a blister-like surface due to the release of gas during cooling.

Dehshiri said the factories in the cities of Rafsanjan, Sirjan, Shahr-e Babak and Kerman have created jobs for more than 700 people.

He said 15,000 people are working at Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex.
