Kazakh airline launches another air route to Sharm El Sheikh

A solemn event dedicated to the opening of a new flight was held at the Aulie-Ata international airport in Kazakhstan’s city of Taraz, Kazinform reported.

Kazakh SCAT Airlines launched Yekaterinburg-Taraz-Sharm El Sheikh regular flights from October 29. The flight duration from Taraz to the Koltsovo airport of Yekaterinburg is about three hours, and from Taraz to Sharm El Sheikh – about five hours. Boeing 757-200 airliners with a capacity of up to 235 passengers will operate the flights.

SCAT Airlines flies to Egypt from Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Kostanay, Oskemen, Atyrau, Oral, Aktobe, Karaganda, and now from Taraz. It is one of the largest air carriers in Kazakhstan, with more than 20 aircraft in its fleet, including long-haul ones. The airline operates more than 80 domestic and international air routes.

Founded in 2008, the Aulie-ata international airport undergone reconstruction and expansion of the runway in 2013.

Presently the airport is able to receive all types of modern aircraft, including heavy Boeing and Airbus as well as helicopters of all types. Moreover, a new terminal with an area of 5,500 square meters was built, which is capable of serving up to 200 passengers per hour.
