Iran’s National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) has increased its anode production by 15 percent and cathode production by 21 percent last year (started March 21, 2018), Trend reports referring to the website of Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Last year, NICICO produced more than 247,000 tons of cathodes and 313,000 tons of anodes.
Overall, 189.8 million tons of mining rocks were extracted by NICICO last year – 9 percent more than the planned amount of 173 million tons.
The company also produced more than 53 million tons of sulfur dioxide last year, which is 5 percent more than the planned amount of 47 million tons for sulfur extraction.
