Onion harvest in 1,250 hectares of fields of Dezful county of Iran's Khuzestan province has started, director of Dezful Agricultural Jihad Organization Ahmad Zarei said, Trend reports via IRNA.
Onion harvest will last about a month, Zarei said.
So far, onions have been harvested from 300 hectares of the county's fields, he noted.
He added that 40 tons of onion are harvested from each hectare and according to forecast this time, 50,000 tons of onions will be harvested in Dezful.
Annually, 2 million tons of crops are harvested from 90,000 hectares of agricultural land in Dezful.
