Kazakhs purchase unprecedented amount of locally manufactured cars

The number of cars sold by official dealers of Kazakhstan has amounted to 37,219 vehicles during January-July 2019, which is 20.2 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the press office of KazAutoProm.

“Kazakhs spent some 341 billion tenge on the purchase of new cars during the reporting period, which is 31.4 percent more than during the same period of last year,” the report said.

Furthermore, the number of cars sold during July 2019 (6,465 vehicles) has exceeded the number of cars sold during July 2018 by 30.1 percent. The value of the market following the end of July amounted to 58.5 percent, having exceeded the indicator of the same period of last month by 33.6 percent.

During first seven months of 2019, 56.4 percent of the customers purchased cars of local manufacturing, whereas 43.6 percent purchased imported cars. The volume of sale of locally manufactured cars amounted to record-breaking 60 percent in July.

During the reporting period, most of the customers purchased LADA vehicles (8,758 cars). It is followed by Toyota (8,066 cars) and Hyundai (7,394 cars).

Bipek Auto–Asia Auto once again proved to be the largest dealership company on the Kazakh market. Some 33.1 percent of the cars purchased during the reporting period were sold by this company.

The largest number of cars sold accounts for Almaty city (9,774 vehicles), Nur-Sultan city (7,322 vehicles) and Shymkent city (2,605).
