The Russian company CIT Terminal located in Yekaterinburg is looking for suppliers of goods from Azerbaijan to the city, the company’s manager Valery Denisov told Trend.

He said that this involves direct deliveries of perishable fruit and vegetable products.

“Our task is to attract suppliers to direct deliveries not through Moscow, but directly from Azerbaijan to Yekaterinburg, bypassing intermediary services represented by Moscow and Moscow companies,” he noted.

“According to our estimates, this is the most optimal way, in terms of logistics and reducing delivery times. Delivery is planned in two ways - either the cargo passes in accordance with customs procedures, in the regime of customs transit, or it is cleared at the border in Derbent city. We propose to consider the passage of goods under customs procedures, as this is the best option,” Denisov added.

He noted that company specializes in two areas.

“We are engaged in container shipping and the supply of perishable goods,” he said. “We have a warehouse for storing perishable goods, as well as a phytosanitary laboratory that provides processing of products, which works even in weekends.”

“We are developing a roadmap for Azerbaijan, which has the entire list of products that are exported from Azerbaijan, as well as step-by-step instructions on the timing of arrival at the goods' delivery point,” he noted.

“Ultimately, we aim to ensure brief logistics of goods on Azerbaijan-Yekaterinburg route. Being a container terminal, our company is ready to cooperate with the Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, as well as with Azerbaijan Railways,” he said.

“We have already met with representatives of these two organizations, and according to our estimates, the negotiations were quite successful, so we look forward to building mutually beneficial cooperation in the near future,” added Denisov.

He said that the company is a multimodal hub for the arrival of goods in customs transit mode. “In turn, the Yekaterinburg customs terminal is a universal platform for receiving and processing export-import goods arriving by road and rail,” he noted.

“The favorable location of the Yekaterinburg customs terminal at the intersection of the main road junctions of the Urals in the directions of Moscow, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Tyumen, Nizhny Tagil and the north of the Sverdlovsk region makes it convenient to receive goods for customs clearance and their subsequent dispatch, bypassing the road network of Yekaterinburg,” said Denisov.
