BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 28

Azerbaijan’s Baku Textile Factory (BTF) plans to buy expensive equipment for knitwear production, BTF Director Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

This includes the purchase of several units of circular knitting machines, Babayeva noted.

“We want to maximize knitwear production, and in this regard, we plan to buy several types of machine tools and circular knitting machines designed for knitwear production,” the director added. “There is an increase in demand for this type of textile product in Azerbaijan and abroad. We plan to purchase knitwear machines worth 100,000-110,000 euros from Germany. Tentatively, the equipment will be purchased in September 2020.”

About 50,000 knitted goods are produced monthly at the factory, Babayeva said.

“Over 16 tons of knitted yarn are used in the production process,” the director noted. “We are going to increase the production of knitted yarn to 20 tons, and the finished knitwear output to 60,000-65,000 units per month. In the future, the company plans to increase the export volume of knitted products by 1.5-2 times in order to increase the export potential of domestic textiles.”

Presently, 300 people work at the BTF. The factory uses seven production lines.

The factory has been operating since 1939. The factory operates according to the European standards. BTF has been provided with the latest German and Japanese equipment and technologies and it employs experienced staff.

The factory produces daily clothes, evening dresses, corporate, children’s, sports and medical clothes, as well as overalls, school and military uniform.
