Astarachay LLC, Azerbaijani manufacturer of natural tea, imports and sells goods in the country’s trading houses abroad through the Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) line, Director of the company Ilkin Alekberli told Trend.
Alekberli added that Azerbaijan exported tea to Kuwait, Latvia, Poland and Kazakhstan in 2019. The company plans to expand the geography of exports in 2020.
The total area of Azerbaijan’s tea plantations is 1,140.5 hectares, 450 hectares of which belong to Astarachay.
“In 2019, the company’s total harvest of green leaves amounted to 120 tons. After processing, 30 tons of black tea was obtained,” the director said.
"Raw materials for tea production are provided by our tea plantations in the country’s Astara and Lankaran districts. Astarachay LLC is the only company in Azerbaijan that produces tea in such volume," Alekberli added.
Pesticides and herbicides are not used during growing, and various additives are also not used during processing. Tea leaves are grown in environmentally friendly conditions.
Alekberli noted that Astarachay products are available in all network markets in Azerbaijan, including Bravo, Araz Supermarket, Bazarstore and others.
Astarachay LLC was established in 2010. The tea factory has ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 and ISO 22000 certificates.
