Iran to import major basic goods, medicines from Iraq

The governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBO) announced the series of negotiations with Iraqi counterpart to import most of the basic goods and medicines to the country.

Abdul Nasser Hemmati presented a report on his recent visit to Iraq, saying that the volume of exports to Iraq and the earned foreign exchange resources are a good opportunity for the economy, Trend reports citing Mehr New Agency.

The CBI governor praised the banks for allocating $5 billion of credit to 21 million people to cover their livelihood, and asked for the continuation of provision of funds and credits to the production units affected by coronavirus pandemic.

Hemmati stressed the importance of transferring the banks' property and assets to the private sector.
The CBI governor emphasized that the banks shall accelerate the process of paying the marriage loan and adopt appropriate measures to solve housing problem.
