The steel products worth $1 billion are expected to be exported from the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern) in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of East Azerbaijan Province Habib Aminzadeh said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
Aminzadeh said that East Azerbaijan Province has great potential, as far as export of these industrial products is concerned.
Aminzadeh added that the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of East Azerbaijan Province continues its efforts to solve the problems of the province's steel producers.
He said that the focus is on the supply of raw materials to industrial enterprises and the continuation of production.
Iran's East Azerbaijan Province produces 5.5 million tons of steel products a year. About 14 percent of Iran's steel production belongs to the East Azerbaijan Province.
The exports of East Azerbaijan Province are expected to reach $3.8 billion in the current Iranian year.
