The volume of exports of fruits and nuts from Georgia in monetary terms amounted to $29.66 million from January through May 2020, Trend reports citing National Statistics Service (Geostat).
The share of fruits and nuts in Georgia’s total exports for the reported period amounted to 2.4 percent.
The major part of exports accounted for hazelnuts - $17.37 million, tangerines - $3.83 million, oranges - $1.77 million, bananas - $1.69 million, and apples - $1.20 million.
Compared to the same period last year, fruit exports increased by 17.2 percent, Geostat said.
In the first five months of 2019, the volume of exports of fruits and nuts amounted to $25.95 million. Their share in the total volume of Georgian exports was 1.8 percent.
The volume of exports of fruits and nuts from Georgia in monetary terms amounted to $25.95 million from January through April 2020, and the share of fruits and nuts in Georgia’s total exports amounted to 2.6 percent.
