The Center for Economic Research and Reforms of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the World Bank conducted another study of the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 within the framework of the Listening to the Citizens of Uzbekistan project, Trend reports citing the Center.
According to statistics, the number of unemployed in the country is decreasing and the employment rate in June approached the previous indicators.
The survey was conducted June 21 among 1,500 households across the country. The survey showed that in June the employment rate continued to accelerate back to previous levels.
In April the proportion of households with at least one employed family member fell sharply by 40 percentage points, recovering by 33 percentage points in June, the report said.
However, employment rates are still lower than they were in 2019 and before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
