BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia expects a rich corn harvest, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
As reported, First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Giorgi Khanishvili, together with representatives of local self-government, inspected corn fields in Abasha municipality, in western Georgia.
According to him, 20-30 percent more corn was sown in Abasha this year compared to last year.
As Khanishvili noted, as a result of consistent and comprehensive measures taken by the state against pests, farmers this year will receive a high quality harvest.
Corn orchards are grown using cold spraying technology and products recommended by world experts.
"Georgia's successful experience in pest control is recognized as an example in many leading countries of the world," Khanishvili said.
