Iran unveils details of exports via Bilasuvar border checkpoint

About 252,000 tons of goods have been exported through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint in the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran), since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to date, Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi told journalists, Trend report citing IRNA.

According to Vosughi, the exports decreased by 33 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

He added that more than 242,000 tons of goods were exported through about 10,600 Iranian trucks and more than 9,000 tons through 462 trucks belonging to foreign countries.

"The exported goods were mainly agricultural products, ceramics, glass, salt, construction materials, pistachios, dates, polyethylene and etc. These products were exported to Azerbaijan, Russia, and Georgia," he said.

The director-general stressed that 155,000 tons of goods were transited through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint by 6,730 trucks.
