Uzbekistan ranks first as the biggest money recipient from Kazakhstan, within the first seven months of 2021, Trend reports citing ranking.kz analytical portal.
Kazakhstan sent abroad 3.5 times more money than it received.
The volume of remittances sent by individuals via money transfer systems from January through July of this year amounted to $1.2 billion - 42.9 percent more than in the same period last year.
The volume of funds received from January through July amounted to only $379.1 million - only 5.5 percent more than from January through July of the last year.
Thus, the amount of money sent by the population abroad is 3.4 times higher than the amount of funds received from abroad.
The largest volume of funds sent from Kazakhstan from January through July was directed to Uzbekistan ($354.7 million), Turkey ($254.6 million), Russia ($253.9 million) and Kyrgyzstan ($205.6 million).
Significant volumes also fell on China ($44 million) and Georgia ($27.4 million).
The amount of funds received from abroad is more modest. Russia is leading with $79.7 million, followed by Uzbekistan ($60.4 million) and South Korea ($57.2 million).
Significant volumes also fell on the US ($42.4 million) and Germany ($24.8 million).
The four leading countries in terms of funds sent - Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russia and Kyrgyzstan - accounted for 83.8 percent of the total volume of transfers abroad, while the volume of funds received from there took only slightly more than half.
