Uzbekistan sees increase in manufacturing of industrial products

According to preliminary data, from January through August 2021, enterprises of Uzbekistan manufactured industrial products worth $25.1 billion, which is 9.2 percent more than the same period in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Manufacturing enterprises during the reporting period produced goods worth $20.7 billion, or 82.5 percent of the total industry.

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises from January through August 2021 amounted to $2.4 billion, or 9.7 percent of the total industry.

If from January through August 2020 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 25.4 percent, then from January through August 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 27.9 percent, and the volume of production was $5.7 billion.

During the reporting period, the share of food products decreased to 13.3 percent, while the physical volume index increased by 7.2 percent, and the total production amounted to $2.7 billion.

The volume of products manufacture by the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning enterprises amounted to $1.7 billion (7.1 percent of the total industry).

In the structure of consumer goods produced in the country, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (23.2 percent of the total volume of consumer goods), Andijan (15.8 percent), Tashkent (11.4 percent), and Samarkand (9.3 percent) regions.

In the structure of manufacture of non-food products in Uzbekistan, the largest share falls on Tashkent (23.1 percent of the total volume of non-food products), Andijan (22.4 percent), Samarkand (9.2 percent), and Tashkent (8.5 percent) regions.

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced goods worth $5.9 billion, the share of which in the total production volume amounted to 23.8 percent.

Today, 92,000 industrial enterprises operate in Uzbekistan, of which 16,700 (18.2 percent of the total number of operating enterprises) are in the city of Tashkent, 10,100 (11 percent) - Fergana region, 9,400 (10.2 percent) - Tashkent region, 9,400 (10.2 percent) - Andijan region, 8,100 (8.8 percent) - Samarkand region and Namangan region - 7,300 (7.9 percent).
