The production of home appliances in Iran increased by 11 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (started March 20,2020), Secretary General of Iran Home Appliances Association Abbas Hashemi told Trend.
The government has provided credit to home appliances manufacturers via banks with interest rate to support production, he noted.
Imposing ban on import of home appliances was another opportunity to help domestic industries improve quality, he indicated.
Meanwhile, Iran is getting ready to host the 21-st Home Appliance Manufacturers exhibition (Nov. 16-19), as chance to show off different domestic products. Manufacturers from Turkey are also set to appear at the event.
Iran Home Appliances Association is demanding the officials to prolong the ban on import, so that domestic manufacturers could promote quality of products and provide enough of goods to the local market.
