TEHRAN, Iran, March 14
Trend:
Iranian government has issued a permit for importing 10,000 tons
of meat, said the head of Light Livestock Owners Association Afshin
Sadr Dadras, Trend
reports citing ILNA.
"In addition to the country's surplus livestock production the
government has issued a permit for the private sector to import
meat," he said.
The government has banned the export of livestock to keep the
market balanced, however, the price of meat has soured in the
country.
According to the official, Iran would possibly import meat from
Russia due to the devaluation of the Ruble and the low price of
meat.
