TEHRAN, Iran, April 4. Iran's car production is expected to jump by at least 50 percent in the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2022), Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade visited the car maker companies of Iran Khodro and Pars Khodro, to closely monitor the implementation of the presidential executive orders for the country's auto industry.

In March, Iran`s President Ebrahim Raisi issued eight presidential executive orders in the fields of production, expanding the production of new and advanced vehicles, electric vehicles, and investing and laying the groundwork for the entry of knowledge and technology from the defense and space industries and the capacity of knowledge-based companies to transform the auto industry.

Raisi also issued orders regarding providing the required parts and immediate clearance and supply of cars in the warehouses of car companies to the market, up to the standard quorum, at the latest within the next 2 months.

He also issued orders that in case of non-fulfilment of obligations and meeting the needs of the market in order to increase competitiveness and eliminate the monopoly gap, legal and executive barriers to car imports should be removed within the next 3 months.

Raisi issued orders regarding how to supply cars to the people in order to create transparency and increase people's satisfaction.

In order to modernize the public transport fleet, both freight and passenger, at least 20,000 cars (tractors, trucks, vans, buses and minibuses) are worn out and obsolete and must be replaced with quality cars for business owners.
