BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Genaveh port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 71.5 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

In total, about 9,940 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port for the 1st month. About 3,330 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,600 tons were unloaded.

Also, 1,350 tons of cargo were exported and 62 tons were imported through the Genaveh port during the reporting month.

Within the 1st month, 1,670 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,590 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

In addition, 1,060 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transshipment, as well as 313 tons were loaded, while 3,890 tons were unloaded for other purposes over the 1st month.

Thus, 1,350 tons of construction and mining materials, 7,530 tons of small and assorted products and 1,060 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the Genaveh port within the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
