BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. The volume of raw gold extracted from Iran’s Mouteh Gold Complex in Isfahan Province increased by 1.7 percent over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), head of the complex, Mohammad Davoudi said, Trend reports citing Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO).

According to Davoudi, approximately 253,000 tons of raw gold were extracted in the Mouteh Gold Complex last Iranian year.

Along with gold mines, there is a gold processing plant at Iran’s Mouteh Gold Complex. In this plant, gold is processed and bars are produced. The gold bars produced by the complex are sold by IMPASCO.

He did not reveal the amount of pure gold produced from the extracted raw gold amount for the mentioned period.

Davoudi did add that 701 kilograms of gold bars produced by the complex last year were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME). The sale of gold bars of the complex at IME increased by 102 percent compared to the preceding year.

Speaking of gold bars, he said a total of 346 kilograms produced at the complex were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange in the preceding Iranian year,” he said.

The Mouteh gold mine is located in Mouteh village in Maymeh county of Isfahan Province. The mine was commissioned in 1993. Up to 300 tons of pure gold may be produced in the mine a year.
